LFC Juggling Squad

We are pleased to announce the creation of the Lakota FC Juggling Squad.  Please read below about this exciting new program.

Purpose: The purpose of the Juggling Squad is to establish a fun and creative way to have LFC players become more technical.  It also will inspire them to use their soccer ball on a more consistent basis with a goal in mind. 
Benefits: Gain more confidence on the ball while increasing overall skill.  Soccer juggling is the best exercise to develop touch with the soccer ball. When juggling, learning to control the body is very important.  Being able to make quick, bodily adjustments with all muscles is developed through juggling.  Better balance will enable a soccer player to make better passes and shots, beat defenders more easily, and be able to hold the ball against defensive pressure, because of better touch on the ball.

How to Join the Squad:   Purchase an LFC Juggling Squad bag tag for $3 from the Spiritwear Coordinator.  These will also be available at Liberty Park and Plains on many practice nights in April.

Rules:  

1.       Players must have a coach or trainer validate their total 
2.       Players may only count touches with their feet, but may use other body parts to keep the ball from touching the ground.  (ex.  Foot, foot, thigh, foot would equal 3 juggles).  Players must return to zero if the ball hits the ground.
3.       The Juggling Squad has many levels of achievement. 
a.        Insert cards for your Juggling Squad bag tag will be awarded at the following milestones:  5-10-15-20-25-30-40-50-60-75-100
b.      Lakota FC website recognition at 50 and above
c.        T-shirts will also be awarded for reaching the following milestones:  100-200-300 

Goals:  Bronze, Silver, and Gold can be reached at any age

Patterns:
 It is helpful to establish a pattern with juggling and stick to the pattern. The weaker foot is always one that causes players the most difficulty. The quickest way to become a better juggler and more importantly develop a better touch is to work on the weak foot specifically. A pattern for a right footed player would be two left one right and continue this pattern. This will be more time consuming and results are slower INITIALLY, however in short time the player will have the ability to juggle indefinitely. Dedication and discipline are the keys here and, the dedication will pay off in the long run.
